By the time children are in junior high and high school, parents should be largely removed from the nightly homework process. Be a resource when it comes to homework, not a crutch. Give your child space while she completes her homework. Do your own thing — make dinner or send work emails — but be accessible. This will encourage her to try to solve more difficult problems on her own before seeking your help.

Study habits include understanding how to review classroom material, take notes, stay organized and prepare for long-term projects and exams. Talk to your kids about how these skills relate to the real world. Good study habits early on can set a student up for academic and professional success.

Model the behaviors you want to see in your child. Support study habits by being present and available. Run through flashcards, administer practice questions and actively listen when your child wants to talk about the material he is learning. Focus on healthy habits. Let the teacher know if you gave your child a lot of homework help.

You take classes from home or library or coffee shop or the beach if you get wifi or wherever you fancy. And you take them on your time. This simply is not true.

Online schools and brick and mortar schools are accredited by the same organizations, and they are being held to the same standards. The quality of education of any vocational school, online or in-person, hinges in part on the quality of instructors. Online courses are often much faster than traditional nursing courses. You are learning at your own speed, but the courses are accelerated and engaging, so you can get through them quickly and get on with your career. Some online BSN programs can be completed in as little as 20 months.

BSN programs at traditional schools take 4 years start to finish.
